I had almost forgotten that April is National Poetry Writing Month, and as a consequence I almost missed the start. Well then, this would be the second year in a row when I am challenging myself to write one poem a day. Wish me luck, please! (Also, I’ve been feeling really down for a while, but just writing a poem made me all better all of a sudden.) So, today’s prompt was to write a triolet. I did so with the soothing assistance of RainyMood. Here it is, for your perusal:
Where You and I First Met
It always rains where you and I first met,
That country made of molten glass and paper;
Its streets are always clogged with verse – and yet
It always rains where you and I first met.
You used to laugh at clouds. I won’t forget
How our words, intertwined, would slowly taper…
It always rains where you and I first met,
That country made of molten glass and paper…
Poetry makes my day better too. 🙂 Good job on the triolet and good luck on NaPoWriMo!
Thank you, Niqui! 🙂
so lovely, wistful, and beautiful.
