Farewell Gogyohka/ Day 30

Finally, this year’s NaPoWriMo has come to an end (so to those of you who had been looking forward to getting rid of my Twitter/Facebook lyrical spam, this is it. For now.) I had a lot of fun doing this and it definitely helped keep me sane throughout what turned out to be a very busy, demanding month. I’ve decided to end with a gogyohkaI experimented with this form for the first time in 2011 – which is a form derived from the Japanese tradition of poetry, whose only established rule is that is has to be made of five short lines. Without further ado:

~*~*~*~

Chasing promises
through the morning mist,
breathless and effervescent:
when I, too, am swept with
the clouds, will you think of me?

ancient streets of the ancient city in the mist
